Hello! I’m Emily. Reader, writer, wife, mom, follower of Jesus. Lover of dark chocolate, all things Christmas, taking pictures, Jeopardy, and crossword puzzles. I am terrible at gift giving, but love quality time. I love to travel, and so far my favorite places have been Ireland and Italy (but there is still so much of the world to explore!). I live in Virginia with my husband Christian and our new son Henry.
Why A Mosaic Life?
Mosaic: adj., composed of a combination of diverse elements
When I think of mosaics, I think of a multitude of colored glass or tiles. When seen up close you can see the beauty, intricacy and specific colors of each piece. The whole picture, however, is only seen when you see the mosaic from afar. Our lives are much like that. Each of us are small pieces of God’s great mosaic, one that is now only fully seen by Him, but will one day be seen by us in heaven. Only there will we see the entire piece of artwork that He has been fashioning since the beginning of creation. Until that time comes He gives us glimpses of his artwork through our relationships with others, and the way He works in our lives.
This blog is small glimpses of the pieces of glass that make up my life, my story, my mosaic. Photos, stories, people, songs, joys, sorrows, lessons learned and lessons taught, insights, oversights, all the things God is teaching me as I walk through this life. This very mosaic life.
“For now we see in a mirror dimly, but then face to face; now I know in part, but then I will know fully just as I also have been fully known.” — I Corinthians 13:12
